Authentic US Army Dress Uniform. The jacket is in excellent condition and has been preserved carefully. May show some signs of aging, as is considered vintage. Worn by someone with the ranking of Specialist 2nd Class. Left arm features an Alaskan Defense Command Patch - 2.5 inches in diameter. This is a WWII patch worn by a Regular Army unit but was discontinued in 1975. The shoulder patch was approved for the Alaskan Defense Command on Mar. 24th, and was re-designated for the Alaskan Department on Dec 31st, 1943. The polar bear on the patch is indigenous to Alaska and suggestive of the Great Bear Constellation. The star above the bear is represtentative of the North Star.
