Antique Women's Kidskin Slippers

Item Details:

  • Mid-Late 19th century slippers for informal wear
  • White kidskin exterior and heel covering
  • White linen lining and insole
  • 1 1/4" Opera heels
  • Additional research has shown that these slippers have a very similar stitching pattern, color, heel covering, heel shape, and stitch spacing to a pair currently housed by the Irma G. Bowen Historic Clothing Collection at the University of New Hampshire (museum number 455 for reference). While the MSU surplus store can not certify the year these slippers were produced, research has indicated they were created sometime between the 1860s-1870s, most likely in the United States.
