This location provides members with the space, tools, and parts to work on their own sustainable transportation device such as bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, etc. Members are allowed to reserve a bench for for repairs an hour at a time; this is free for students, and $5 for MSU faculty and staff. Basic bicycle repair classes will be offered. This inclusive space is also meant for people to come and hangout with other people who share a passion for sustainable transportation.
The Brake Room is a space divided into a workshop and a hangout area. An assortment of tools to make necessary repairs as well as a staff member to assist in teaching how to make repairs will be on site. There will be three benches available for reservations; reservation times are one hour blocks. The hangout area includes couches, televisions, and gaming systems with room to interact with old and new friends alike.
The Brake Room is free for all students who choose to become members and that have a valid A-Pid, however for MSU faculty and staff there is $5 per visit fee, or $100 for a year long membership.
Grand opening is September 6th from 6:00pm-9:00pm
Basement of Demonstration Hall; enter at the stairs on the north end of the building.
