The Student Horticulture Association (SHA) at Michigan State University is a student organization founded in 1901 that brings together Spartans who are passionate about plant science and horticulture. From landscape design, greenhouse management to floriculture and nursery. SHA fosters professional networking, hands-on learning, and social connections that support members throughout their education and into their careers, continuing MSU’s strong tradition of excellence in the horticulture industry. The association’s largest event each year is the Spring Show and Plant Sale, an indoor garden show and themed plant sale that offers creative garden inspiration, family-friendly activities, and a welcome escape from Michigan’s early-spring gray skies. All plants are generously donated by Michigan companies and carefully grown by SHA members from seed or plugs throughout the semester. The event raises funds to support educational opportunities, industry conferences, trade shows, tours, and community service initiatives for SHA members.

Standard Shipping

Buyer is responsible for paying all related shipping and handling charges unless otherwise noted in the item description. Shipping costs are determined at checkout by zip code and by shipping method chosen. A nominal handling charge is included to cover the cost of packaging materials. If the buyer provides a PO Box, items are mailed through the U.S. Postal Service. Special shipping arrangements such as companies not listed, local pickup and freight services may be available upon request.

Local Pickup

There is no charge for local pickup. Customers will receive notification when their order is ready for pickup. Pickup times are Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 3:30pm and Wednesday between 8:00am and 5:45pm. Customers will have 5 business days to pick up their order.

Freight Shipping

Due to the size and weight of certain items, we offer customer arranged freight shipping. The buyer is responsible for the arrangement and payment of all related shipping and handling charges. Palletizing, crating, shrink wrapping and banding services are available for a fee.
