Vehicle Sale Process and Procedures

Vehicles are available for inspection at the MSU Surplus Store.
Customer will need to contact the MSU Surplus Store at 517-355-1723 to obtain access to vehicle for viewing.
Vehicle test drives will follow a specific route on the MSU campus with MSU Surplus Store staff following in a separate vehicle.
Vehicle test drives must be scheduled in advance with the MSU Surplus Store staff.
Vehicle inspections and test drives are offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Vehicles must be paid for by Certified Check made payable to “Michigan State University” or “MSU” or Cash. Credit card payment will not be accepted.

Standard Shipping

If the buyer provides a PO Box, items are mailed through the U.S. Postal Service. Special shipping arrangements such as companies not listed, local pickup and freight services may be available upon request.

MSU Surplus Store ships to U.S. addresses only.

Local Pickup

There is no charge for local pickup. Customers will receive notification when their order is ready for pickup. Pickup times are Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 3:30pm and Wednesday between 8:00am and 5:45pm. Customers will have 5 business days to pick up their order.

Freight Shipping

Due to the size and weight of certain items, we offer customer arranged freight shipping. The buyer is responsible for the arrangement and payment of all related shipping and handling charges. Palletizing, crating, shrink wrapping and banding services are available for a fee.
